Disney Dream

Enliven your family vacation with a magical adventure onboard Disney Dream, a vessel where dreams can come true. Introduced in 2011, Disney Dream became the third ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, one of their largest and most feature-packed vessels. This “mega-ship” (about 40% larger than the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder) has unique features, such as the first “water coaster” ever to be on a cruise ship, and you don’t want to miss out! Disney Dream cruise carries on Disney’s classic theme of the early 20th century, reminiscent of the golden age of cruising, without sacrificing a single detail in her onboard public spaces and accommodations. She sails to the Bahamas and Western Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale, FL, offering incredible 3- to 5-night adventures!

 The AquaDuck Waterslide is a must-try for thrill-seekers!

Ship Refurbishment

Refurbished during a dry dock in September-October 2024, Disney Dream received numerous improvements. Some of these upgrades include an expanded Concierge Lounge, significant changes to EDGE and the Oceaneer Club, a refreshed Senses Spa & Salon with new treatment rooms added to the revamped spa, a new cantina offering tacos and burritos, and the transformation of the ship’s signature red forward funnel into a brand-new 2-story Dream Tower Suite (new Category 01A) featuring over 2,000 square feet of luxurious space on the upper decks 13 and 14 and concierge-level amenities.

Fun Activities

Since Disney Cruise Line is recognizably family-friendly, you can discover an impressive variety of activities and entertainment options while aboard a Disney Dream cruise ship. You’ll never run out of something to do! Both adults and children are certain to enjoy the appealing Broadway-style live shows (Disney-themed, of course) in the massive Walt Disney Theatre. This venue hosts performances such as Beauty and the Beast, The Golden Mickeys, and Disney’s Believe as well as Disney movie premieres and 3D films. The Buena Vista Theatre is more along the lines of a classic cinema, where you can watch recently released and classic Disney hits. Those who love being outdoors and active get to enjoy Goofy’s Sports Deck, an open-air activity center featuring a comical miniature golf course, ping-pong and foosball tables, shuffleboard, and a basketball/soccer court, as well as a virtual sports simulator where you can experience hockey, golf, baseball, and more. Other areas of interest include Mickey’s Pool (a kid-friendly pool with a slide), Donald’s Pool (a family pool with a giant screen, hot tub, and nearby restaurants), Nemo’s Reef spray park, and fun-for-all deck parties.

Suites & Staterooms

The accommodations onboard Disney Dream are well-appointed and comfortable. Most of them have split bathrooms, a great feature for families traveling together. There are staterooms that can accommodate anywhere from 3 to 5 guests, as well as suites that have a capacity for up to 8 guests. Concierge Suites are the most appealing accommodations, featuring 1 to 2 levels and 1 to 3 bedrooms, a private and spacious veranda or floor-to-ceiling windows with magical views, and extra premium amenities. Verandah staterooms, also great for families, are perfect for those who want to wake up and privately enjoy the beautiful ocean air or unwind at night. Oceanview and inside staterooms are also available for travelers seeking simpler accommodations with fantastic perks.

Cruise For Adults

Parents who are looking to get away for a while or adults who are traveling alone will equally find themselves having a good time sailing with Disney Dream. Of course, you’ll have every opportunity to relive your childhood. However, there are many adult-only areas for the times when you’d like a little more of a subdued atmosphere. Aboard this ship, you can discover many bars, lounges, and nightclubs, such as Currents, the upscale and scenic Skyline Bar, the cozy Cove Café, District Lounge piano bar, Evolution dance club, Pub 697, and Pink: Wine and Champagne Bar that’s shaped like the inside of a champagne bottle! There are also two adult-only restaurants, Remy and Palo, both of which have a per-person cover charge. Palo serves North Italian fare while Remy offers a truly elegant and luxurious French-inspired dining experience with menus of Michelin-star quality. Finally, Quiet Cove Pool is an adults-only pool, featuring a more relaxed atmosphere than the ship’s other pools.

Delicious Dining

Disney does not disappoint when it comes to dining. On a Disney Dream cruise, you may notice a very unique main dining experience, not found on other cruise ships. Instead of traditional assigned dining or open dining, you are placed in Disney Cruise Line’s Rotational Dining program. What this means is that you will “rotate” to one of the ship’s three main restaurants every evening, ensuring you enjoy a delicious meal in a unique setting every night of your voyage. Disney Dream’s main restaurants are:

 Disney Dream cruises are just as fun for adults as they are for kids!
  • Animator’s Palate features a live dinner show starring Disney characters;
  • Enchanted Garden is a gardens-of-Versailles-inspired restaurant with a color-changing ceiling and “blooming” light fixtures;
  • Royal Palace is inspired by classic Disney princesses like Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.

Among the many casual dining options available on your cruise are:

  • The indoor/outdoor boardwalk-inspired Cabanas buffet is open for all three meals;
  • Flo’s Café is an outdoor venue serving all-American favorites, including pizza, burgers, chicken, sandwiches, and salads;
  • Eye Scream Treats offers delicious soft-serve ice cream;
  • Preludes is a snack bar outside of the Walt Disney Theatre where you can load up delicious snacks for the show;
  • A convenient option that is available to all guests is 24-hour room service.

Ship Highlights

Concierge Dream Tower Suite

Disney Dream began to offer the Concierge Dream Tower Suite as one of her concierge-level suites and staterooms in 2024. This one-of-a-kind penthouse at sea has beautiful décor inspired by the 1940 Disney classic Fantasia and features a special private entry, floor-to-ceiling glass windows, double-height living room, two main bedrooms, children's bedroom, luxurious furniture, 4.5 bathrooms, beautiful Grand spiral staircase, a library, all Suite and Concierge-level amenities, and an elevator with special access to Deck 13, where these accommodations are located.

Virtual Portholes

The magic of Disney Dream follows you all the way into your accommodations. A truly unique and original feature that is available in all inside staterooms aboard this ship is Virtual Portholes. These innovative LED flat-screen monitors provide you with real-time views of the outside of the ship, reflecting on the stateroom’s actual location (port or starboard). Plus, there are virtual sightings of animated Disney characters from time to time! Of course, the screens can be turned off if you so desire (such as at bedtime).

AquaDuck

Have a blast with the hair-rising AquaDuck ride, the cruise industry's first-ever “water coaster.” At 765 feet in length and with a 4-deck drop into a lazy river, it provides you plenty of high-speed thrills to add an extra kick to your Disney Dream cruise. Guests who would like to go on the AquaDuck must be 48” or taller (subject to change).

 Your Disney Dream cruise isn’t complete without a wonderful candy store!

Buena Vista Movie Theater

Disney Dream takes “movie night” to an all-new level at the beautiful Buena Vista Theatre. Located on decks 4 and 5, this stylish cinema shows first-run movies and digital 3D films on a giant movie screen. You and your family can enjoy watching these flicks while kicking back in the comfort of the venue’s plush stadium-style seats and extra legroom.

Character Greetings

What’s a Disney cruise without its magical and beloved characters? While onboard a Disney Dream ship, you get many opportunities to meet and greet some of the most popular Disney characters. Whether you want a photo op or you’re just looking to say hello, you will find your cruise brimming with the personalities who brought your favorite movies to life. These delightful experiences can occur throughout the ship, sometimes planned and sometimes as surprise appearances. Some of the characters you may run into include Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald and Daisy Duck, Chip n’ Dale, Goofy, Pluto, Cinderella, Doc McStuffins, and Queen Elsa and Princess Anna (some Character Experiences require tickets).

Senses Spa & Salon

You deserve the best while on vacation, so consider booking a soothing wellness treatment at Disney Dream’s tranquil oasis, Senses Spa. This sanctuary is where you are able to enjoy a variety of spa treatments and salon services. Indulge in a healing massage, a restorative body wrap, a rejuvenating facial, or even a relaxing aromatherapy treatment! Top it off with a makeover at the salon, whose services include manicures, pedicures, and hairstyling. There is even a barber shop for traditional men’s grooming services.

The Spa features rainforest-themed aromatherapy steam rooms, a dry sauna fashioned after a Roman bath, private luxury villas, and much more. Located near this area of the ship is a fully-equipped fitness center, with a large variety of exercise equipment and fitness classes (such as yoga and Pilates) available.

Guests of the Senses Spa & Salon, as well as the fitness center, must be at least 18 years old. However, Disney Dream allows guests ages 13 to 17 to use treatments and services under particular conditions, such as parent or guardian must book and then accompany young guests for the duration of their treatment.

Youth Clubs

As part of the Disney family, Disney Cruise Line offers a fantastic youth program onboard all Disney Dream cruises. You will discover many areas of the ship designed just for kids and teens ages 6 months up to 17 years.

 Kids have their very own space aboard Disney Dream with its many youth and teen clubs!

Disney’s Oceaneer Club and Lab are two connecting areas for guests ages of 3 through 10. This facility includes a life-sized Toy Story-inspired “Andy’s Room” play area, a Star Wars-inspired play area, and more. The pirate-themed lab area features a large plasma TV screen that plays Disney movies, computers, and hands-on activities such as building race cars from soap.

Edge is an exclusive tweens-only area for 11 to 14-year-olds featuring a hang-out area with computers, video games, and an optional snack bar. Some of the activities that occur here include talent shows and glow parties. Vibe is the teen’s-only space for 14 to 17-year-olds with TVs, video games, and an optional coffee bar. Some of the games and activities that take place here include video game competitions, dancing, bingo, crafts, and more.

Daycare services for youngsters aged 6 months up to 3 years are available at the “It’s a Small World” nursery. Other areas of interest that children and adults can enjoy together are the arcade and the D Lounge, a family entertainment center where parents can sing, dance, play games, and enjoy live shows together.
