Refurbished during a dry dock in 2015, Disney Dream received numerous improvements. Some of these upgrades included Satellite Falls (an adult-only splash pool), the addition of a Star Wars-themed play area in Oceaneer Club and a Disney Infinity gaming area, a “Wreck-It Ralph”-themed candy shop, and Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, where children can undergo a special princess or knight makeover.
Since Disney Cruise Line is recognizably family-friendly, you will discover an impressive variety of activities and entertainment options while aboard a Disney Dream cruise. You’ll never run out of something to do! Both adults and children are certain to enjoy the appealing Broadway-style live shows (Disney-themed, of course) in the massive Walt Disney Theatre. This venue hosts performances such as the Golden Mickeys and Disney’s Believe as well as Disney movie premieres and 3D films. The Buena Vista Theatre is more along the lines of a classic cinema, where you can watch recently-released and classic Disney hits. Those who love being outdoors and active will enjoy Goofy’s Sports Deck, an open-air activity center featuring a comical miniature golf course, ping-pong and foosball tables, shuffleboard, and a basketball/soccer court, as well as a virtual sports simulator where you can experience hockey, golf, baseball and more. Other areas of interest include Mickey’s Pool (a kid-friendly pool with a slide), Donald’s Pool (a family pool with a giant screen, hot tub and nearby restaurants), Nemo’s Reef spray park, and fun-for-all deck parties.
The accommodations onboard Disney Dream are well-appointed, comfortable and most have split bathrooms (a great feature for families traveling together). Ensuring that families can travel in the same room together, Disney Dream has staterooms that can accommodate anywhere from 3 to 5 guests, as well as suites that have a capacity for up to 7 guests. Concierge Suites are the most appealing accommodations onboard, featuring 1 to 2 bedrooms, a private and spacious veranda, and extra premium amenities. Verandah staterooms, also great for families, are perfect for those who want to wake up and privately enjoy the beautiful ocean air or unwind to it at night. Ocean view and inside staterooms are also available for travelers seeking simpler accommodations.
Parents who are looking to get away for a while or adults who are traveling alone will equally find themselves having a good time while traveling aboard Disney Dream. Of course, you’ll have every opportunity to relive your childhood. However, there are many adult-only areas for the times when you’d like a little more of a subdued atmosphere. Aboard this ship, you will discover many bars, lounges and nightclubs, such as Currents, the upscale and scenic Skyline Bar, the cozy Cove Café, District Lounge piano bar, Evolution dance club, Pub 697 and a wine and champagne bar that’s shaped like the inside of a champagne bottle! There are also two adult-only restaurants onboard, Remy and Palo, both of which have a per person cover charge. Palo serves up North Italian fare while Remy offers a truly elegant and luxurious French-inspired dining experience, with menus of Michelin-star quality. Finally, Quiet Cove Pool is an adults-only pool, featuring a more relaxed atmosphere than the ship’s other pools.
