What Characters Are Onboard?

What’s a Disney cruise without its magical and beloved characters? During your impressive Disney Wonder cruise, you will have many opportunities to meet and greet some of the most popular Disney characters. Whether you want a photo or just want to say hello, you will find your ship brimming with the personalities who brought your favorite movies to life. These delightful experiences can occur throughout the vessel, sometimes planned and sometimes as surprise appearances. Some of the characters you may run into include Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald and Daisy Duck, Chip n’ Dale, Goofy, Pluto, Cinderella, Doc McStuffins, and Queen Elsa and Princess Anna (some Character Experiences require tickets).

Innovative Dining

While sailing aboard a Disney Wonder cruise ship, you may notice a very unique main dining experience, not found on other ships. Instead of traditional assigned dining or open dining, you are placed in Disney Cruise Line’s Rotational Dining program. This means that you will “rotate” to one of the ship’s three main restaurants every evening, ensuring you enjoy a delicious meal in a unique setting every night of your cruise. Disney Wonder’s main restaurants are:

• Animator’s Palate that features a live dinner show starring Disney characters;
• A New Orleans-themed restaurant called Tiana’s Place that is hosted by Tiana from The Princess and the Frog;

Royal Court Royal Tea

Held once per cruise in a venue that’s decorated to look like a page right out of a storybook, Royal Court Royal Tea is a special (for a fee) event where boys and girls can participate in an unforgettable tea party experience with their favorite Disney princesses, chefs, and other beloved characters.

In addition to the traditional endeavors of a tea party, there are also storytelling, dancing, singing, and many more special tea-time activities. The menu includes a delicious selection of herbal tea plus one sweet and one savory course. Parents are also invited to attend this once-in-a-lifetime event. At the end of the party, your child will even receive a small collection of keepsake treasures to remember the experience.

Youth Clubs

As part of the Disney family, Disney Cruise Line offers a fantastic youth program onboard all Disney Wonder cruises. You will discover many areas of the ship designed just for kids and teens ages 6 months up to 17 years.

Disney’s Oceaneer Club and Lab are two connecting areas for guests between the ages of 3 and 10. This facility includes a life-sized Toy-Story-inspired “Andy’s Room” play area, Marvel’s Super Hero Academy program, a Frozen-inspired program, and a Disney Junior section with games, arts and crafts, and more. The pirate-themed lab area features a large plasma TV screen that plays Disney movies, computers, and hands-on activities such as baking classes.

Edge is an exclusive tweens-only area for 11 to 13-year-olds featuring a hang-out area with computers, video games, and an optional snack bar. Some of the activities that occur here include talent shows and glow parties.

Vibe is the teen’s-only space for 14 to 17-year-olds with TVs, video games, and an optional coffee bar. Some of the games and activities that take place here include video game competitions, dancing, bingo, crafts, and more.

Daycare services for youngsters aged 6 months up to 3 years are available at the “It’s a Small World” nursery. Other areas of interest that children and adults can enjoy together are the arcade and the D Lounge, a family entertainment center where parents can sing, dance, play games, and enjoy live shows together.

Senses Spa & Salon

Located on Deck 9 of Disney Wonder is a full-service salon and spa, where you can treat yourself to an assortment of world-class spa treatments and salon services. Indulge in a nourishing herbal wrap or leave your skin glowing with blissful botanical skin therapy. Feel new again with a soothing massage, or look your sharpest with a relaxing manicure or pedicure (or both!).

One of the spa’s greatest features for couples is private Spa Villas that you can reserve to relax in while benefiting from a handful of serene amenities, such as a personal whirlpool, a foot cleansing ceremony, and a bathing ritual. The spa also has a rainforest-themed aromatherapy steam room and a sauna based on a Roman bath. This is an adults-only venue, typically open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm on days at sea. The Chill Spa is open to guests ages 13 to 17, featuring a limited spa menu and special offers such as mother/daughter and father/son massages.

Located nearby this area is the ship’s fitness center, also for adults only. Weight machines, spinning machines, treadmills and ellipticals, and instructional classes (such as Pilates and yoga), are available at the fitness center.
