♦ Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden
A great way to spend time outdoors when visiting Port Louis is to pay a visit to the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Gardens. Built in 1767 by French Governor Mahe de Labourdonnais, these gardens now contain over 90 acres of flora and fauna. Guided tours are available so you can learn all about the different plant life and species contained within the gardens. This UNESCO World Heritage Site once operated as an immigration depot for the 19th century British government.
