Cruises to Chongqing

Located where the Yangtze and Jialing rivers meet in southwest China, Chongqing is a wonderful port to visit during a cruise vacation. Famous for its many historic, cultural, and nature-related attractions (as well as its spicy local cuisine), this is a perfect destination for travelers looking for a unique vacation experience. If you love to adventure outdoors, you will discover a multitude of mountains, natural hot springs, breathtaking canyons, and cave carvings. There are also a few museums, temples, and architectural points of interest scattered throughout, but not as many as you’d typically find in a major port city. The true appeal lies in the city’s natural wonders, as well as the cuisine. Many Chongqing dishes consist of Sichuan cuisine, which features a heavy emphasis on hot spices.

Viking River Cruises is the only cruise line that currently features cruises to Chongqing. Viking’s itineraries with departures to Chonqing begin with land tours in Beijing and Xian before flying you into Chongqing for embarkation. Not only is this a great value, but it’s also a fabulous way to ensure you see as much as you can during your vacation!
