The treasures of the Medici family are on full display as we delve into the centuries of art, architecture and tumultuous history. Join a Local Specialist for a walking tour of the city. Visit the Piazza della Signoria, the hub of the city, and view the magnificent marble Duomo. Learn about the quality and workmanship of two of this city's historic industries at demonstrations of Florentine leathercraft and 18-carat gold. Then, spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Why not visit the Boboli Gardens or tick off great masterpieces in the Uffizi Gallery? We travel through the Italian Lake District bound for Switzerland this morning and enjoy some free time for lunch in the laid-back lakeside town of Como, which for centuries has served as the crossroads between Central Europe and the Mediterranean. We continue through Alpine landscapes, past Lugano and through the St. Gotthard tunnel into central Switzerland, before arriving in Engelberg.

8Uncover Lucerne’s Treasures
Walk across the flower-lined 14th-century wooden Chapel Bridge and into a land of lakes and lions. * NOTE: This Trip falls under LEVEL 1. Please refer to the Deposit, Payment and Cancellations policies on our website. * DAY 1: Complimentary arrival transfers from Leonardo Da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport Airport (FCO) depart at 09:30, 12:30 and 15:00 on the first day of the tour. Guests should arrive at least one hour before the last transfer time. Guest meet their Travel Director at approximately 17:00 for a Kick-off Party, please be aware when booking your flights. * EUROSTAR TRAIN: Guests will journey unescorted on the train portion of the trip. Porterage service is not included at the train stations. Guests will be required to take their luggage on/off the train. On arrival at St. Pancras railway station in London, there will be a Trafalgar Host waiting for our guests, who will arrange them to meet the driver and transfer to Trafalgar hotel.* DAY 12: Book air with Trafalgar and you will receive a complimentary transfer from the Trafalgar tour hotel to London Heathrow Airport (LHR) in the last day of the itinerary or in conjunction with post-trip accommodation booked through Trafalgar. Guests who have made their own flight arrangements may purchase a transfer at our specially negotiated group transfer rates.
