♦ Norfolk Botanical Garden

These beautiful gardens (and the educational programs that take place at them) are one of the most popular tourist attractions in Norfolk (with around 250,000 visitors annually). It is a great place to check out before or after a cruise from Norfolk, and happens to be a Virginia Historic Landmark. Tours are available in a variety of fashions: walking tours, tram tours and boat tours. There is a nominal per person fee to get into this venue (although members get in for free), and the hours of operation vary by season.

♦ Chrysler Museum of Art

Home to a wonderful collection of art, general admission is free to this museum. There are over 40,000 items on display (spanning nearly 5,000 years of history), including a world-renowned glass collection and Art Nouveau furniture.

♦ U.S.S. Wisconsin

History enthusiasts may want to visit this venue before or after their cruise from Norfolk. Admission to the Battleship Wisconsin is free to all visitors, as is admission to the Hampton Roads Naval Museum (who co-operates the vessel). While touring this historic vessel you'll have the opportunity to learn all about the ship and its three tours of duty in the United States Navy, and view various artifacts from the men who once served on it. Some interior sections of the ship are closed off to visitors, due to the ship's status within the Navy's Inactive Fleet.
