Why Choose Royal Caribbean?

The Royal Caribbean Cruise Ships are State-of-the-Art!

Royal Caribbean's ships feature many "at-sea firsts." For example, their Freedom Class (Freedom of the Seas, Liberty of the Seas and Independence of the Seas), Oasis Class (Allure of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas, and Oasis of the Seas) and Quantum Class (Anthem of the Seas, Ovation of the Seas, and Quantum of the Seas) ships feature FlowRider, a surfing simulator. The Royal Promenade available on many of the Royal Caribbean ships make you feel like you're hanging out in the downtown area of a happening city, with a slew of bars, lounges and dining venues lining it. The Royal Promenade aboard Adventure of the Seas Also available on many of Royal Caribbean's ships are ice-skating rinks, rock-climbing walls and state-of-the-art fitness centers. As you might imagine, Royal Caribbean leaves little possibility for their guests to become bored while on their cruise ships.

Royal Caribbean is Perfect for… EVERYONE!

What type of traveler is right for Royal Caribbean? All types! Royal Caribbean is popular with families, seniors, couples, honeymooners, singles and large groups. In addition, Royal Caribbean is well-liked among both newbies and experienced travelers. Why? Because there's something for everyone on a Royal Caribbean cruise! The Royal Caribbean fleet consists of some of the most beautiful, and modern, ships in the cruising industry. Their ships are destinations within themselves! What does this mean? Royal Caribbean’s cruise ships are like floating cities. Some of their main features include health spas, art galleries, several restaurants, world-class theaters, rock-climbing walls, ice skating rinks, surfing simulators, casinos, pools, hot tubs, discos…and the list goes on!

Dining Options Galore

On a Royal Caribbean cruise you'll have a ton of dining venues that you can choose from. Among the many options are the beautiful main dining rooms, buffets, room service, ice cream parlors and various specialty restaurants (which have a nominal per person cover charge), such as Johnny Rockets, Portofino and Chops Grille (which are each available on select ships). Besides the seemingly endless dining options available on each Royal Caribbean ship, they make dinner time even easier by allowing their guests to choose between traditional (assigned, with a choice between main and late seatings) dining and open dining (which gives guests the flexibility of choosing when they'd like to have dinner; called My Time Dining).

What's New for Royal Caribbean?

Freedom of the Seas underwent a "Royal Amplification" in Spring 2020 and emerged with all-new features! Among them are the addition of the Lime and the Coconut Bar, the Perfect Storm waterslide trio, a brand-new Giovanni's Italian Kitchen venue, and the guest-favorite, Playmakers Sports Bar and Arcade.

Beginning with the November 24, 2019 sailing, guests will be able to enjoy the "Amplified" Oasis of the Seas! Playmaker’s Sports Bar & Arcade is a smash hit staple on many Royal Caribbean ships! Additions to the ship include all-new thrills, dining options, bars, nightlife entertainment, and family-friendly features..

Royal Caribbean's Splendour of the Seas left the Royal Caribbean fleet in April 2016. In the same month, Jewel of the Seas also emerged from dry dock with a number of enhancements, including renovated staterooms, the addition of specialty dining restaurants (Giovanni's Table, Vintages, Izumi) a poolside movie screen, refreshed public spaces and more!

Prior to her arrival in her new homeport of Shanghai, Quantum of the Seas underwent a number of updates to better acclimate her to the Asian market. This included the replacement of the diner-style Johnny Rockets restaurant with a Kung Fu Panda Noodle Shop, the removal of Dynamic Dining, the conversion of onboard shopping options to feature premium luxury brands, as well updated entertainment options. Quantum of the Seas' reception in her new port has been very positive, and Royal Caribbean estimates that only a few tweaks remain to outfit her completely for Asia.

A Virtual Balcony stateroom aboard Quantum of the Seas

In July 2015, Royal Caribbean announced the decision not to introduce Dynamic Dining to their Oasis-class ships as anticipated. Harmony of the Seas, Allure of the Seas and Oasis of the Seas will continue to offer Traditional and My Time Dining. Guests who booked the Dynamic Dining Classic option onboard Harmony of the Seas will be assigned to either early or late seating, corresponding to their original choice of time. Guests who selected the Dynamic Dining Choice option will be assigned to the My Time Dining program.

The second of Royal Caribbean's Quantum class ships, Anthem of the Seas, celebrated her inaugural sailing April 22, 2015. Initially sailing from Southampton, England, she'll eventually relocate to the port of Cape Liberty in Bayonne, New Jersey.

The third vessel in the Oasis Class of ships, Harmony of the Seas debuted in April 2016. At 227,000 gross tons, she's the largest cruise ship in the world. The ship will carry 5,479 guests at double occupancy, with 2,747 staterooms. Among the exciting on board features will be three multi-story waterslides, all of which twist and turn over Central Park 10 decks below. A private suites-only restaurant called Coastal Kitchen will debut on this ship, as will an exclusive full-service Suite Sun Zone sun deck. A fourth (yet to be named) Oasis-class ship will be delivered in 2018.

Navigator of the Seas now features many of the amenities that are found on newer ships. One of the most exciting things is the debut of Virtual Balcony Interior staterooms. A concept that was first announced for Quantum of the Seas, Navigator of the Seas is the first current Royal Caribbean ship to receive this upgrade. These interior staterooms feature a wall-sized, 80-inch high definition screens that are framed to look like actual balconies and provide live streams of the ocean or ports of call. Among the other new features are the popular FlowRider surf simulator, Chop's Grille, Izumi Asian Cuisine, and Giovanni's Table Italian trattoria.
