It's a unique place to walk the rooms, see the gardens and pool, and be inspired by the author's famous writing studio. The remodeling undertaken by Ernest Hemingway and his wife in the early 1930s made the Spanish-Colonial-style home a National Historic Landmark and one of the most visited Key West attractions.

Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park

A visit to Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park in Key West, Florida, lets you feel history and even touch it beyond book experience. This National Historic Monument still has the red-brick corridors of Fort Taylor, gun ports, and cannons used in the Civil War. A guided tour helps you understand how soldiers lived while defending the southeastern coastline years ago. You can watch historic demonstrations conducted by re-enactors once a month. At other times, you can enjoy the beautiful beach, swim, paddle, snorkel, have a picnic, fish, observe birds, adore nature, etc.

Smathers Beach

Many guests call Smathers Beach the best in Key West, enjoying its clear water and soft sand. This city's largest public beach is amazing for swimming, water sports, and sunbathing. You can play beach volleyball with your friends and explore the underwater world by snorkeling or kayaking. It is also possible to find jet skis to rent.

The Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory

The Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory is a fairy-like glass-domed butterfly habitat that lets you walk among beautiful tropical free-flying butterflies. Kids and adults can have a magical experience in the forest-like area with hundreds of butterflies, exotic birds, flamingos, a unique gift shop, and the Butterfly Gallery.

It is popular thanks to its wonderful sandy beaches, clear water, great recreational opportunities, and a stunning underwater marine park you can access from the shore. Harry S. Truman Little White House

Florida's only presidential museum, The Little White House, welcomes guests to the vacation retreat of Harry S. Truman, the 33rd President of the United States. This house used to be quarters for Navy officers during World War II, and now it is a memory of the Truman era. You can see the original furnishings, the president's piano, bar, poker table, and the working desk and hear fascinating stories of how he spent his time here. If you choose the VIP tour, you can even ride in one of Truman's limousines.

Key West Lighthouse

The beautiful 86-foot-high Key West Lighthouse boasts an interesting history. It served its purpose since 1848 and was decommissioned 121 years later. Today, finally restored to its original significance, it is a museum dedicated to Key West's maritime heritage and lighthouse keepers. You can visit this place to feel the life of the early 20th century and see the original furnishings and images of keepers who ensured the light was on no matter how hard the storms were. You can adore wonderful views if you take the 88 steps to the top deck.
