The highly anticipated Disney Fantasy debuted in April of 2012, joining her sister ship Disney Dream as being one of the largest cruise ships of the ever-popular Disney Cruise Line fleet. This “mega-ship” shares unique features such as the AquaDuck water coaster, specialty restaurant Remy, and the adult-only Satellite Falls pool. The 128,000-ton ocean liner continues Disney’s classically styled ship design theme, without sacrificing a single detail in her onboard public spaces and accommodations. Currently, Disney Fantasy is doing 3- to 7-night cruises to the Bahamas, the Caribbean, the British Isles, and the Mediterranean, as well as 13-night Transatlantic voyages sailing from ports in Italy, Spain, England, and Port Canaveral, Florida (which is around an hour or so of a drive from Walt Disney World in nearby Orlando). Ship Refurbishment

Refurbished during a dry dock in 2017, Disney Fantasy received several “magical” improvements. Some of these upgrades included a family splash pool, the addition of Senses Juice Bar, Star Wars Command Post, and Marvel Super Hero Academy to Disney’s Oceaneer Club, and the addition of Tiffany and Co. to her shops. Other improvements include enhancements to some of the bars, shops, and a photo gallery.

Magical Activities

Since Disney Cruise Line is recognizably family-friendly, you get to discover an impressive variety of activities and entertainment options while aboard a Disney Fantasy cruise. You’ll never run out of something to do! Both adults and children are certain to enjoy the appealing Broadway-style live shows (Disney-themed, of course) in the massive Walt Disney Theatre. Other areas of interest include Mickey’s Pool (a kid-friendly pool with a slide), Donald’s Pool (a family pool with a giant screen, hot tub, and nearby restaurants), Nemo’s Reef spray park, and fun-for-all deck parties.

Meet Your Favorite Disney Characters!

While on a Disney Fantasy cruise, you have many opportunities to meet and greet some of the most popular Disney characters. Whether you want a photo op or you’re just looking to say hello, you will find your trip brimming with the personalities who brought your favorite movies to life. These delightful experiences can occur throughout the ship, sometimes planned and sometimes as surprise appearances. Some of the characters you may run into include Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald and Daisy Duck, Chip n’ Dale, Goofy, Pluto, Cinderella, Doc McStuffins, and Queen Elsa and Princess Anna (some Character Experiences require tickets).

Elegant Suites & Staterooms

The accommodations onboard Disney Fantasy are well-appointed and comfortable, and most have split bathrooms (a great feature for families traveling together). To ensure that families can travel in the same room together, some staterooms can accommodate anywhere from 3 to 5 guests while suites have a capacity for up to 7 guests.

Concierge Suites are the most appealing accommodations, featuring one to two bedrooms, a private and spacious veranda, and extra premium amenities. Verandah staterooms, also great for families, are perfect for those who wish to privately enjoy the wonderful ocean air after waking up or at night. Oceanview and inside staterooms are available for travelers seeking simpler accommodations.

Cruises for Adults

Parents who are looking to get away for a while or adults who are traveling alone will equally find themselves having a good time aboard Disney Fantasy. While you have every opportunity to relive your childhood, there are many adult-only areas on this cruise ship for the times when you’d like a little more of a subdued atmosphere. Onboard Dining Experience

As you get to discover, dining is an adventure in itself aboard this ship. On a Disney Fantasy cruise, you may notice a very unique main dining experience not found on other cruise ships. Instead of traditional assigned dining or open dining, you are placed in Disney Cruise Line’s Rotational Dining program. What this means is that you will “rotate” to one of the ship’s three main restaurants every evening, ensuring you can enjoy a delicious meal in a unique setting every night of your adventure. The main restaurants are:

• Animator’s Palate, featuring a live dinner show starring Disney characters;

Virtual Portholes

The magic of Disney Fantasy follows you all the way into your accommodations. Virtual Portholes are a truly unique and original feature that is available in all of the inside staterooms aboard this cruise ship. These innovative LED flat-screen monitors provide you with real-time views of the outside of the ship, reflecting on the stateroom’s actual location (port or starboard). Plus, there are virtual sightings of animated Disney characters from time to time! Of course, the screens can be turned off if you so desire (such as at bedtime).

AquaDuck

Have a blast with the hair-rising AquaDuck ride, the cruise industry's second-ever “water coaster.” At 765 feet in length and with a 4-deck drop into a lazy river, it provides you plenty of high-speed thrills to add an extra kick to your Disney Fantasy cruise. Guests who would like to go on the AquaDuck must be 48” or taller (subject to change).

AquaLab

Teens and younger will enjoy Disney Fantasy’s wet and watery AquaLab, located on deck 12 near the entrance to AquaDuck. This 1,8000-square-foot water play area features pop jets, geysers, and bubblers, plus a small wading pool.

Senses Spa & Salon

You deserve the best while on vacation, so consider booking a soothing wellness treatment at Disney Fantasy’s tranquil oasis, Senses Spa & Salon. This sanctuary is where you are able to enjoy a variety of spa treatments and salon services. Indulge in a healing massage, a restorative body wrap, a rejuvenating facial, or even a relaxing aromatherapy treatment! Top it off with a makeover at the salon. Salon services include manicures, pedicures, and hairstyling. There is even a barber shop for traditional men’s grooming services.

The Rainforest room is a special area in the spa with a Hamam (steam bath), Caldrium (steam room), and Laconium (dry sauna). Located near this area of the ship is a fully-equipped fitness center, with a large variety of exercise equipment and fitness classes (such as yoga and Pilates) available.

Guests of the Senses Spa & Salon, as well as the fitness center, must be at least 18 years old. However, Disney Fantasy allows guests ages 13 to 17 to use treatments and services under particular conditions, such as parent or guardian must book and then accompany young guests for the duration of their treatment. You can visit the nearby Senses Juice Bar to top off your relaxation with a healthy smoothie (for an additional fee).

Satellite Falls

This is an adults-only venue, located forward, where you can lounge in the sun or cool off in a circular splash pool, which features benches and a gently cascading rain curtain.

Youth Clubs

Not surprisingly, there is a fantastic youth program available on all Disney cruises. Disney Fantasy has a variety of programs and spaces designed just for children and teens on each and every one of their cruises.

Disney’s Oceaneer Club and Lab are two connecting areas for guests ages of 3 through 10. This facility includes a life-sized Toy Story-inspired “Andy’s Room” play area, a Star Wars-inspired play area, and more. The pirate-themed lab area features a large plasma TV screen that plays Disney movies, computers, and hands-on activities such as building race cars from soap.

Edge is an exclusive tweens-only area for 11 to 14-year-olds featuring a hang-out area with computers, video games, and an optional snack bar. Some of the activities that occur here include talent shows and glow parties. Vibe is the teen’s-only space for 14 to 17-year-olds with TVs, video games, and an optional coffee bar. Some of the games and activities that take place here include video game competitions, dancing, bingo, crafts, and more.

Daycare services for youngsters aged 6 months up to 3 years are available at the “It’s a Small World” nursery. Other areas of interest that children and adults can enjoy together are the arcade and the D Lounge, a family entertainment center where parents can sing, dance, play games, and enjoy live shows together.
