Sun Princess is the next-generation Sphere Class cruise ship, the first one powered by Liquified Natural Gas (LNG), to join Princess Cruises' fleet in 2024. The company plans to reduce marine gasoil and air emissions greatly thanks to using cleaner burning fuel.
The ship is built by Fincantieri S.p.A., which is expected to deliver a second, next-generation Princess Sphere Class cruise ship in spring 2025.

The new Sun Princess ship is the third vessel to have this name. The first sailed from 1974 to 1988, and the second sailed from 1995 to 2020. The inaugural cruise of the third one begins in February 2024.
The 175,500-ton vessel can accommodate 4,300 guests who are welcome to sail on Sun Princess to the Mediterranean and explore the most impressive European destinations in early-mid 2024.
Eastern and Western Caribbean sails will follow in the fall of 2024. These voyages will begin out of Port Everglades, Florida.
