Overview

Freedom of the Seas

A Freedom of the Seas cruise isn’t an ordinary voyage to the Caribbean. This is turquoise beaches and thick jungles. Tropical rainforests and natural hot springs. All with incredible photo ops that you simply cannot pass up. This is discovering massive volcanos and secret lakes hidden beneath ground. Or learning ancient historical lore visiting 17th-century ruins. Followed by a distinct lunch of local island BBQ fusion. This is Freedom of the Seas, your first-class ticket to experiencing the Caribbean and the Bahamas.

Discover natural wonders, such as underground lakes and caves, on a Caribbean shore excursion.

In Spring 2020, Freedom of the Seas emerged from an extensive dry-dock, where she received all the enhancements of the Royal Caribbean Amplified initiative! Updates include a brand new pool deck (featuring The Lime and the Coconut Bar as well as the Perfect Storm waterslide trio), a brand new Giovanni's Italian Kitchen venue, and the guest-favorite Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade.

For a flexible vacation that you can enjoy any time of the year, jam-packed with adventure (regardless of trip length) consider booking a Freedom of the Seas cruise. Break out into relaxing, interesting, or adrenaline-pumping pursuits onshore. Soak up the ship’s incredible features. Or go for a combination of both! Savor a delicious complimentary breakfast buffet before spending your day biking through the trails of Curacao, where you might even spot a blue iguana. Partake in a flavorful specialty dinner before enjoying an included Broadway-style production in the main theater! Onboard Freedom of the Seas, your opportunities to enjoy yourself are endless.

Activities & Entertainment

You’re a tight-knit family, coming even closer together over ice skating, mini-golf, cupcake decorating, and more. A happy couple, sharing the indulgence of upscale specialty restaurants, soothing spa treatments, and no-cover bars. Or a large group, coming together in opulent private meeting spaces, all while enjoying pools, sports, shows, dining, and everything that Freedom of the Seas has to offer!

  • In addition to exciting optional Caribbean shore excursions like high-tech submarine adventures and duty-free shopping opportunities, there is plenty of inclusive fun awaiting you aboard Freedom of the Seas.
  • Families are certain to enjoy blasting bad guys in the arcade, laughing along to a movie on a giant outdoor screen, making memories in a crafting class, cuddling up to an ice show, splashing each other at H20 zone, conquering the rock wall, or showing off surf skills at FlowRider surfing simulator (fun fact: Freedom of the Seas was the first of Royal Caribbean’s fleet to feature this activity, now a staple on most Royal Caribbean cruise ships!).
  • When it comes time for parents to take a well-deserved break, Freedom of the Seas offers highly acclaimed youth programming at Adventure Ocean (for 3 to 11-year-olds) and The Living Room (12 to 17-year-olds), jam-packed with exciting hands-on, educational, and most importantly, fun activities!
  • For cruisers younger than 3, there is also the Royal Tots and Babies Nursery, which offers sitting service at an additional cost.
  • If you’re looking to celebrate a romantic getaway, a Freedom of the Seas cruise has everything you need to turn your vision into reality. No-cover bars offer a variety of entertainment dependent on your mood (peaceful piano playing at Schooner Bar vs. lively Latin music at Boleros vs. karaoke at On Air Club vs. late-night dancing to the DJ at Club Twenty).
  • Vintages wine bar hosts occasional wine tastings for those who enjoy trying new things, and the free Broadway shows offered in the theater are not ones to miss.
  • And of course, there is plenty of pools and whirlpools for relaxing, splashing, and feeling refreshed!
Couples will enjoy the many complimentary, late-night offerings aboard Freedom of the Seas, such as no-cover bars, free shows, and pool deck.

Restaurants & Dining Options

Local Caribbean eats are definitely an experience to try, with authentic flavors ranging from Latin American, East Indian, and even British favorites. Freedom of the Seas provides an astonishing collection of complimentary dining, specialty dining, and delightful surprises around every corner:

  • Families never have to worry about racking up a big bill. The most popular complimentary dining options include the main dining room and the Windjammer Buffet (featuring many options to make even the pickiest of eaters happy).
  • Crush midnight cravings at the 24-hour Café Promenade.
  • Specialty restaurants, which charge a cover in return for specialized menus and tastes, can turn a good cruise to great! Fresh avocados are smashed into homemade guacamole right before your eyes at Sabor. Staple steakhouse Chops Grille serves steak and seafood sizzling with perfection. Take a side trip to Italy through your taste buds at Giovanni’s Table, where the pasta is fresh to impress. Take your cruise from great to unforgettable by booking an intimate Chef’s Table experience, where you and a limited number of other diners get a taste of the talents from the ship’s executive chef.

When booking your Freedom of the Seas cruise, you can select between Traditional or My Time dining, Traditional dining eliminates the hassle of having to make reservations and heightens your dining experience with personalized service. My Time Dining is more flexible, allowing you to schedule your dinner around your day instead of vice versa. My Family Time dining is available in the main dining room beginning on the second night of your cruise, where the kids are served first and then escorted to the youth programs, leaving parents to enjoy the rest of their meal.

Freedom of the Seas features complimentary dining, specialty dining, and the option to choose from assigned, open, or family dining times.

Staterooms & Suites

The comfortable accommodations onboard Freedom of the Seas will have you feeling peaceful and well-rested. Best of all, there’s so many kinds to choose from. Innovative staterooms include promenade-view interiors, spacious panoramic oceanviews, spacious balconies, and impressive Royal Suites. All categories are spacious with enough room to accommodate families and large groups, and provide you with everything you need for a stay that exceeds comfort.

Freedom of the Seas accommodations translate to no hassles. Families traveling with babies don’t have to worry about extra bulky luggage – the cruise ship will provide a crib and available supplies upon request. Connecting staterooms are available for large groups and big families. Never fear about losing one of the crew when everybody is close by! 24-hour room service includes free continental breakfast. Avoid the morning rush in the dining venues and make the most of your day by getting it started as early as possible, on your own terms!

What’s better than returning to your room after a long but thrilling day, only to find everything as perfect as it can be? Each stateroom comes with a stateroom attendant who will ensure your stateroom stays clean and comfortable at all times, often tending to your room while you’re off having fun. After all, you’re on vacation – no picking up after yourself necessary. In addition to the most living space and most upscale layouts, suite guests can enjoy upgraded amenities, such as bigger balconies, bathtubs, luxurious bath amenities, and other special features depending on category booked. Junior Suites are great options for those who want an opulent experience without breaking the bank. Royal Suites are the most premium of suite accommodations, measuring at an incredible 1,657 square feet!

Inside

If you’re a traveler who wants to have more spending money for excursions, cocktails, spa treatments, or specialty dining, then an Interior stateroom is a fabulous option. It is usually the least expensive fare. Interior staterooms do not have a window, so it’s a great choice for those who are looking for a great night’s sleep (this is an especially good choice for quickly overcoming jet lag if you’re traveling in a different time zone). Depending on where your Interior stateroom is located, you’ll generally feel less movement (great for preventing seasickness). Finally, with the least amount of living space, you’ll feel more motivated to spend as much time as you can exploring the ship and getting the most valuable experience for your money.
