11Discover Ancient Rome and the Vatican City
This morning, visit Vatican City and explore St. Peter’s Basilica, where Michelangelo’s Pietà has inspired visitors for generations. Then join a Local Specialist to discover the legacy of Ancient Rome, with views of the Colosseum and stories of its powerful past. This afternoon, enjoy free time to embrace la dolce vita—relax on the Spanish Steps, visit the Vatican Museums to see the Sistine Chapel’s ceiling or toss a coin into the Trevi Fountain. This evening, gather with your Travel Director and fellow travelers for dinner to toast to your Italian tour. * DAY 1: Complimentary arrival transfers from Barcelona International Airport (BCN) 09:30, 12:00 and 14:30. Guests should arrive at least 2 hours before the last transfer time. Flights to arrive prior to 12:30.* DAY 12: Complimentary transfers arrive at Leonardo Da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport (FCO) on the last day of the tour at 07:00 and 09:30. We recommend flights to depart 3 hours after the first trasnfer arrival time at the airport. Flights to depart after 10:00.* TRANSFERS: Chargeable transfers available in Madrid and Rome. Guests who have booked their extra hotel nights with Trafalgar, or whose flight times do not coincide with the shuttle coach timings may purchase a chargeable transfer. However, guests booking independent hotel nights will make their own transfer arrangements.* NOTE: This Trip falls under LEVEL 1.
