Enjoy a day at leisure to stroll along San Sebastián's boardwalk and with the city harbor filled with fishing boats and pleasure crafts, you can enjoy several sporting activities on its large sandy beach. 6Scenic Landscapes, Quaint Towns and Oviedo Connect with Locals
Begin your day in Bilbao to see the facade of the Guggenheim Museum, one of the most celebrated examples of modern architecture in Europe. From here, travel through the foothills of the Picos de Europa, passing green valleys and small market towns that reflect the region’s rural traditions. Later, join the Castañón family for your Be My Guest experience at their cider mill. 7Pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela
The Asturian fishing village of Luarca is our first stop today. Soak up its seafaring atmosphere en route to the pilgrim city of Santiago de Compostela, renowned as the end of the 'camino' pilgrimage route that has its origins dating as far back as the 9th century.

8Explore Santiago de Compostela
Join a Local Specialist who will share insights into the 'Way of Saint James' and explain why thousands of people attempt the life-changing pilgrimage annually. Traveling east, arrive in the fiery Spanish capital, Madrid, for an afternoon of sightseeing with a Local Specialist. * DAY 1: Complimentary arrival transfers from Barcelona International Airport (BCN) depart at 09:30, 12:00 and 14:30 on the first day of the tour. Guests should arrive at least 2 hours before the last transfer time. * DAY 11: Complimentary transfers arrive at Adolfo Su-rez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) on the last day of the tour at 08:30 and 11:00. * TRANSFERS: Chargeable transfers available in Barcelona and Madrid. Guests who have booked their extra hotel nights with Trafalgar, or whose flight times do not coincide with the shuttle coach timings may purchase a chargeable transfer. However, guests booking independent hotel nights will make their own transfer arrangements.* NOTE: This Trip falls under LEVEL 1. Please refer to the Deposit, Payment and Cancellations policies on our website. * ITINERARY UPDATE: The visit to the Grotto of Our Lady of Covadonga has been removed from the Trafalgar Northern Spain itinerary starting from the 2026 season.
