Azamara Journey

Azamara Journey, sister ship of Azamara Quest, is one of the two cruise ships in the upscale Azamara fleet. An elegant vessel that mainly sails in Cuba & the Caribbean as well as Northern & Western Europe with occasional voyages in the Mediterranean, Australia & New Zealand, and Central & North America, her small size (a little over 30,000 tons and room for 690 guests) allows for docking in areas of the world that larger “mega-ships” simply cannot access.

When Was Azamara Journey Last Refrubished?

After a short drydock period in 2016, Azamara Journey received a refresh of all public spaces and staterooms, and a new “Azamara Blue” hull. Among the many ship-wide renovations were new carpets, upholstery, and a new color palette in public spaces; new mattresses and upgraded veranda furniture for all accommodations; a resurfaced pool, and new sun loungers and pool towels on the outer decks.

Shore Excursions

Azamara’s Destination Immersion® program allows you to truly acquaint yourself with the lands you will be visiting by featuring overnight port stays and late departures. • There are three onboard shops where you can purchase everything from keepsakes to camera batteries to fine jewelry.
• If you’re looking to kick back and relax, there are several hot spots to check out including the Discoveries Lounge, which sports a full bar and friendly bartenders, the Mosaic Café, where you can relax and enjoy a hot cup of coffee, and The Drawing Room, Azamara Journey’s onboard library and inspiration center.
• For more lively entertainment, there’s always the Cabaret Lounge where you can catch up to three distinctively different shows during your voyage from full-stage musicals to classical music
• White Night Parties are held at least once per cruise as long as the weather holds out

Dining Options

Thanks to Azamara’s Destination Immersion® program, you can continue to absorb local culture through your fork in one of Azamara Journey’s five excellent onboard dining venues. The menus in Discoveries Restaurant, the Windows Café, the Patio, and the two specialty restaurants Prime C and Aqualina, reflect regional flavors, and each dish is carefully prepared with fresh, local ingredients that are purchased in port whenever possible.

• Discoveries Restaurant is the main dining venue that is available to all guests, and also provides a nightly selection of regionally-inspired dishes that reflect the destinations that you visit on your cruise
• Treat yourself to a Destination Immersion® dinner buffet or order off their extensive dinner menu as you continue to explore the world through your senses.
• Afterwards, you can grab a drink in the adjacent Discoveries Bar and converse with any new friends you might have made during dinner.

If you’re looking more to dine casually, Azamara Journey provides you with two great choices: The Patio and the Windows Café.

• The Patio is a lavish al fresco dining experience completely candlelit with elegant table cloths and first-class waiter service. You can top off your dinner at the whimsical Swirl & Top self-serve frozen yogurt station, where you can build your dream dessert from an assortment of flavors and toppings.
• The Windows Café is an inviting indoor/outdoor venue with daily rotating selections for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Staterooms & Suites

The accommodations aboard Azamara Journey are modern, stylish and comfortable. Staterooms range in size from 158 to 175-square feet and suites range from 266 to 603-square feet. Some of the amenities that you can enjoy in one of the cozy staterooms include cotton bathrobes and slippers, French bath products, fresh-cut flowers, fine bed linens with duvets and 24-hour room service. Select rooms feature a private veranda. If you book a suite, you can enjoy the added amenities of complimentary butler service, one free bag of laundry service per 7 days, afternoon tea service, complimentary access to the specialty restaurants, and a choice of 235 complimentary internet minutes or $150 towards a full voyage unlimited package per person. Most suites feature private verandas as well, and the newly-built Club Spa Suites feature extra in-room spa amenities as well as a spa credit and romantic “Nights in Private Places” event.

Specialty Dining Restaurants

Prime C and Aqualina are Azamara Journey’s two onboard specialty restaurants, which are free for suite guests and require a $30 cover charge for non-suite guests (subject to change). Both venues offer an outstanding variety of choices from Chef’s Table meals to five-course feasts with luxuriant wines, and are hosted by a senior officer or special guest. Taste some of the most significant Italian dishes such as lobster ravioli or a fresh Venetian seafood at Aqualina, or some of the best quality steaks and seafood dishes at Prime C. Both restaurants feature a vast and delicious dessert menu, and tables fill up quickly, so reservations are highly recommended.

Health and Wellness

On an Azamara Journey cruise, relaxation and rejuvenation is calling your name. In the newly-designed Sanctum Spa, you can treat yourself to a variety of exotic massages, glowing facials, body sculpting procedures and acupuncture treatment. With the new outdoor Sanctum Terrace, you may even be able to get an oceanfront massage or relax in the bubbling saltwater jet pool. Try out a new style in the salon, where you can get yourself a new hairdo or a pampering manicure or pedicure, before heading off on an adventurous excursion. The Living Room

Formerly named “The Looking Glass Lounge,” The Living Room is one of the newly updated common areas designed to look and feel like a real living room. Here, you will discover comfortable sofas, chairs and a handmade wooden wine table used for occasional tastings. During the day, you can come to The Living Room to grab a warm cup of tea or hot cup of coffee and enjoy finger sandwiches and pastries. From the late afternoon into the evening, there will be a variety of hot and cold tapas with wine available. You may also encounter dancing, karaoke and live music at night. If you come on the right night, the chef may even surprise you with a selection of desserts.

The Casino/Spirits Bar

If you’re feeling lucky you can pass the time in the onboard casino, which features all-new slot machines, roulette games and poker. If you don’t know how to play, there’s no need to worry because the staff will be happy to teach you, one-on-one or as a group. As part of Azamara Journey’s most recent refurbishment, the casino received all-new carpeting and reupholstered seating with custom fabrics. If you would like to enjoy a cocktail as you play, the adjacent Spirits bar can help you out. Sports fan will enjoy watching the big game on the new flat-screen TV.
