Overview
Viking Sky
Viking Sky cruises will take you to Europe, the Mediterranean, Africa, Australia/New Zealand, and other amazing destinations! You can even take a Transatlantic voyage or a fantastic 120- or 137-night World Cruise aboard this ship, which is the third vessel of Viking Ocean Cruises, an ocean cruise line created by the already-established Viking River Cruises. Combining their most popular river ship features with those of larger ocean liners, Viking provides you with a fabulous new way to see the world. Not only does this ship travel to popular destinations, but she also spends more time in port so you can make the most of your days on land. Unlike other cruise lines, Viking Ocean provides complimentary shore excursions (one per port). These tours are jam-packed with rare and valuable cultural immersion opportunities and are a must for any seasoned traveler!
Onboard Entertainment
Cultural captivation is the real highlight of every Viking Sky cruise. Every port of call includes one complimentary shore excursion, where you can deeply immerse yourself in the culture and traditions of that region. Many ports are late-night or overnight stops, so you never need to worry about rushing and not being able to enjoy your time on shore. When you’re not off exploring, the ship provides great onboard programs to enjoy:
Theater-goers will love the Theater, where you can catch a variety of live entertainment such as original live productions, destination videos, TED talks, engaging port talks, enrichment lectures, movies, and other activities;
Those who like outdoor leisure can enjoy the Sports Deck (complete with golf-putting, shuffleboard, and more), the lovely Aquavit Terrace (with a bar, whirlpool, infinity pool, and lounging area), or the main pool area;
Inside Viking Sky are numerous bars and lounges where you can pass the time with drinks, socialization, relaxation, and occasional live entertainment.
Restaurants and Dining
Prepare to fire up your tastebuds while sailing on the Viking Sky cruise ship, because the cuisine you’ll try is second to none. One special feature of this ship is that all restaurants – except for the Kitchen Table – are 100% complimentary! If you get tired of the main restaurant or the buffet, you’ve got plenty of other delicious options to try:
Regional cuisine is served in the Restaurant, with free beer, wine, and soda poured at dinner. Traditional dishes are also available, so no tastes get left out. The Restaurant hosts open-seating breakfast and dinner, so you can come whenever convenient. During nice weather, the large windows of this venue open up, serving you a side of fresh ocean air with your meal aboard Viking Sky.
Specialty restaurants onboard Viking Sky are Manfredi’s Italian Restaurant, the Pool Grill, Mamsen’s, and the Chef’s Table:
Manfredi’s is an Italian restaurant and one of the best found in the middle of the ocean;
The Pool Grill is a convenient burger bar by the poolside, serving classic grill food like hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, fish sandwiches, and French fries;
Mamsen’s is a unique Nordic-style deli venue that serves small offerings made from the cookbook of Viking president Torstein Hagen’s mother;
The Chef’s Table serves a 5-course dinner each night, with perfectly picked wine pairings. The menu in this venue rotates every couple of days, so you can try something new a few times throughout your cruise.
If you’re looking for a light snack to hold you over in between meals, the Living Room serves small pastries and finger sandwiches just for those occasions!
Staterooms & Suites
Viking Sky is an all-veranda cruise ship. No matter what kind of stateroom you book, you can enjoy the benefits of your own private balcony. Other in-room amenities include free Wi-Fi, luxury bedding, 24-hour room service, and plenty of storage space! In addition, every stateroom has a private bathroom designed to perfection, with heated floors, premium bath amenities, and plush robes for nighttime relaxing. When booking a suite, you receive additional bonus amenities, such as early stateroom access, binoculars, a high-quality blanket, and complimentary services, including laundry!

Ship Highlights
Manfredi’s
Manfredi’s is Viking Sky’s Italian specialty restaurant. This venue is included in your fare and serves some of the finest Italian cuisine at sea! Viking’s chefs work tirelessly to offer you fresh, homemade pasta and soups, locally sourced fish, and other delicious specialties. One exciting feature that makes this venue stand out is its open kitchen, where you can see the chefs bake fresh bread and grate fresh Parmesan cheese for your dishes. Portion sizes are very filling and usually large enough to share. Don’t fill up on appetizers and main courses too much because you simply cannot miss out on the mouthwatering dessert menu!
24-Hour Room Service
Round-the-clock room service is available on almost any cruise ship, but Viking Sky takes 24-hour room service one step further! Unlike other ships, she offers hot breakfast items in addition to the traditional continental breakfasts usually offered through room service on cruises. Any items from The Restaurant are available through room service, another rare benefit. The rest of the room service menu is much larger than usual and includes delicious items like sushi and salmon. Finally, you can enjoy room service even on disembarkation day, a feature not often seen at sea!
Shore Excursions
Viking Sky cruises include one free excursion per port of call. These excursions often embody destination highlights and are given by English-speaking guides. A typical tour brings you through historical or unique highlights and gives you free time to spend however you’d like. In addition to complimentary excursions, Viking Sky also offers specialized for-fee excursions that may take you a little deeper into a certain site or topic, and are generally cheaper than for-fee excursions found elsewhere. All tours are enhanced with QuietVox audio systems so everyone in the group can hear the guide clearly.
Onboard Enrichment
Viking Sky hosts an incredible variety of onboard enrichment that can supplement your shore excursions or just teach you something you didn’t already know. Port talks are usually in-depth and focus deeply on the destination’s history and traditions. Lectures also tend to fall hand-in-hand with excursions and can help you gain a deeper appreciation for the places you visit. TED Talks are available in the cinema, as well as on-demand in your stateroom.

Veranda
Balcony staterooms are more expensive than Oceanviews, but provide a much more elevated experience. In some cases (depending on the ship and category) you’ll get extra living and storage space, plus amenities that may not fit in smaller accommodations. Balcony staterooms are perfect for travelers who wish to spend a decent amount of time relaxing in privacy. Balconies bring you closer to the passing scenery and wildlife, providing an up close and personal view.
They also tend to be closer to public areas, which means you won’t need to go far to change or drop something to your room.
