Overview
Viking Star
Viking Star is the premiere vessel for Viking Ocean Cruises, an ocean cruise line created by the award-winning Viking River Cruises. Combining many elements that have made Viking a world-famous river cruise line with some elements of a slightly larger ship has resulted in an exciting ship that explores the world. Viking Star cruises have been available since 2015, taking you on exciting expeditions to the Mediterranean.
The ship stops at many ports of call along the way, featuring many overnight or late-night stops so you can truly immerse yourself in new destinations. When sailing on a Viking Star cruise, you can expect a better onshore experience through rare tourism opportunities that provide many behind-the-scenes options that you might not get elsewhere.
Onboard Entertainment
Shore excursions are the true highlight of all Viking Star cruises. Best of all, every port of call includes one complimentary excursion, with overnight stops in just about every port! Instead of rushing back to the ship, you can take your time exploring and make the most out of your time. When you’re not in port or back on the ship for the day, you can enjoy some great onboard entertainment experiences:
The Star Theater is the primary space that hosts entertainment. Viking has its own production troupe performing dancing and singing revues. Videos on your destination air daily in the two adjoining Cinemas. Other programs you may enjoy include movies, pre-recorded TED talks, and sporting events.
Onboard enrichment includes in-depth port talks and engaging lectures. Trivia, board games, golf-putting, and shuffleboard are also available for your pleasure.
Live music takes place in many of the ship’s bars and lounges.
To swim and soak, you get two pools (including an infinity pool) as well as two hot tubs on the pool deck.
Runners and walkers can stretch their legs on the tracks that wrap around Decks 2 and 8.
Restaurants and Dining
Dining onboard Viking Star is like no dining experience you’ve ever had. Every venue is complimentary except for one!
The Restaurant is the ship’s main eatery, where complimentary beers, house wines, and sodas are poured during dinner. This venue serves breakfast and dinner, offering open-seating dining (you can enjoy dining whenever and with whoever you want) and delicious regional cuisine. There are also “always available” classic options for those who may prefer to stick with familiar choices. Eat with breathtaking views through the Restaurant's floor-to-ceiling windows that can open up in good weather, and grab a pre-dinner cocktail in the built-in bar in the middle of the venue.
For a more casual dining experience, The World Café serves as Viking Star’s buffet. However, it's unlike any other similar venue found at sea. This buffet features an open kitchen, and all food is prepared as fresh as possible. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can expect to find foods similar to what’s served in The Restaurant here, on top of traditional buffet items like pizza, salad, and pasta. Don’t miss out on the sushi bar that opens up for dinner! The floor-to-ceiling windows open up, and al fresco seating is available if you prefer to enjoy your meal outside.
Take dining up a notch and book a dinner reservation at the Chef’s Table, which features a rotating menu of five themes with distinct wine pairings.
If you’re in the mood for authentic Italian, Manfredi’s serves up some of the finest Italian dishes at sea.
The Pool Grill is an upscale outdoor burger bar where you can grab a quick lunch of burgers, chicken, fish, or salads with a side of fries.
Mamsen’s is a must-try. This Norwegian deli-inspired venue serves hearty recipes straight from the cookbook of the Viking president’s mother!
If you just need a quick pick-up snack, the Living Room serves pastries and finger sandwiches all day long.
Staterooms and Suites
Viking Star is an all-veranda ship. No matter what kind of stateroom you book, you can take in the sights and smells of the ocean for the entire length of your trip. From the smallest Veranda staterooms to the largest Owner's Suites, you’ll discover some of the finest amenities and best service at sea. All accommodations come with everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay, including luxury bedding, free Wi-Fi, a spacious private bathroom with heated floors, plenty of storage space, premium bath amenities, robes, 24-hour room service, etc. Guests booked in suites can enjoy additional perks like early suite access, complimentary laundry service, shoe shine services, and much more!

Ship Highlights
The Kitchen Table
The Kitchen Table is an onboard cooking school and unique dining experience aboard Viking Star but it takes you far beyond the usual scope of “specialty dining.” The Kitchen Table can easily be thought of as one-third excursion, one-third hands-on activity, and one-third dining. It's an optional opportunity to shop, cook, and dine with chefs. On port days, you can accompany the chef on a shopping trip to a local market and learn to cook regional meals, creating a delicious three-course presentation. On sea days, you can learn to prepare dishes that highlight your upcoming destination. This exclusive dining experience is amazing!
The Nordic Spa
The spa onboard Viking Star comes complete with Nordic influences and is certain to be one of the most unique spa experiences of your life. Keeping in line with Nordic tradition, the spa embodies a perfect balance of “hot and cold.” The thermal suite alone features an expansive warm pool and whirlpool, as well as cushioned and heated loungers. Anyone can access the thermal suite for free, making Viking Star cruise spa very attractive. Another exciting part of the spa is the Snow Grotto room, where you can cool off with ice shavings before heading to the steam room across the floor. Spa services include hair and nail services, a barbershop, massages, facials, and body scrubs.
The Living Room
The Living Room is Viking Star’s version of an atrium. This three-level area is set up and decorated like your own living room, making you instantly feel at home. Furnished with plenty of comfortable furniture, this is a great place to enjoy a book, socialize, play cards, or take in the live music that plays here nightly.
Torshavn
Torshavn is Viking Star’s nightclub. Complete with full bar service, you can often find nightly entertainment here such as live bands. It’s a great place to grab a drink and have a dance or two. If you find yourself wanting an Armagnac, you can find it here.
Wintergarden Conservatory
This glass-enclosed lounge is perfect if you want to soak up the sun without actually going outside. Like the windows in some of the restaurants, the doors often open up during nice weather to let fresh air inside. There are plenty of soft chairs and couches to relax on and enjoy a drink from the dedicated bar. Located near the pool, the conservatory is a great place to unwind after a morning at the pool.

Balcony staterooms are perfect for travelers who wish to spend a decent amount of time relaxing in privacy.
